Yes the Newbridge Arts trail is back! Over the weekend of the 18th and 19th of May more
than 20 artists and makers will be opening their homes or exhibiting in local venues right on
your doorstep. This annual event is the perfect way to enjoy a weekend of creativity and art
without having to stray too far from home.
This is the thirteenth year of the Newbridge Arts Trail bringing together local people, schools,
and business sponsors to support our talented artisan community. The trail organisers are
hoping to inspire you to discover the hidden corners in Newbridge where creativity is
happening right under your nose!
Visitors can use the map to find exhibitors located across Newbridge which gives adults and
children alike a fun way to enjoy locating the venues. On arrival you can learn about different
kinds of art, different processes and talk to the artists to understand what influences them or
maybe even ask them to give you some tips about taking up art yourself.
The trail hosts a wide range of creative mediums, from painting and printmaking to pottery
and jewellery. You can come along and feel free to just browse, or if you’re looking to pick up
a piece of local art, you will find a diverse array of styles and much of it at very affordable
prices. There will be cards and small gifts available making the trail a great place to find a
truly original gift whilst supporting local artists.
Entry for visitors is free of charge and the venues are open between 10.30am and 5pm
across both days of the weekend. You will find some groups of artists exhibiting in non
residential venues with more details to follow.
